Someone (the previous owner-- the ass) removed the speakers he installed there. If you are going to cut holes in your panels for speakers, you should at least have the decency to leave the speakers in place when you sell the car. Otherwise, he should have replaced the panels.

The holes are for behind the seat speakers that the previous owner added then took out.

The "foil" in the trunk is Dynamat or its equivalent. Its purpose is to damp out vibration and panel resonance. You probably have it in your doors too but haven't seen it yet. Previous owner probably had a subwoofer in the trunk that he also removed (not unusual).

sounds like someone had some speakers in there, or at least cut the holes for speakers, but it wasn't done at the factory.

Yeah, people suck. He could have either left the speakers, replaced the panels, or at least told someone when he sold it that they were there. Shady

dynamat if thats how you spell it. that foil is very heavy for what it is. if you have dynamat than yes the hole is most likely speakers. wow what a jerk to not leave the speakers in the car. i maean its not that expensive or worth selling the car with a fat ugly hole in it

I agree with the speakers. Previous owner gets a thumbs down.
