Question on test pipe.
Hi, since the test pipe is just a straight pipe. i was just wondering can i custom the pipe myself ? will it work exactly the same ?
without the need to get a branded one ? thanks ! |
yes i had a custom one and it fit fine , there is a few little bends that need to be made just buy a megan non resonated t/p 100 with bolts and gaskets worth it to me .

I would just buy one.. There inexpensive and it would be less trouble. Also off of the header a round crush gasket is used. It might be hard getting the metal flange to the shape of it.

what does the hole on the test pipe do actually?
|
test pipe replaces the catalytic converter, which restricts the flow of exhaust gases. If you built one, you will need to include a threaded hole for the O2 sensor. Personally I think the time it will take you to make one of these (it not just a straight piece of pipe.. has built in gasket, flange, O2 hole, and a bend in the pipe) won't be worth the $100 you will save by not purchasing a quality unit.
