Default QuickJack 5,000-LB Capacity Portable Car Lift

Costco has the BL 5000 SLX for $999.99 I can't find it cheaper anywhere else.
Is this the best price on it?

For anyone who has one, I wonder about the practicality of the lift height. It doesn't appear to go high enough to be able to sit on a chair. It also seems to be too high to work on the car from a floor creeper. Maybe the height is OK. I will appreciate comments from those who actually have one and have used it.
Thank you.

You can stop the lift at multiple places befor it hits the very top of the lift. So its not just all the way up or all the way down.

I have the original 5,000 lb unit that's now just over 4 years old. I find the lift height to be perfect for me. If you don't mind spending $40 for each, you can buy large rubber car-lift blocks to raise the height. By lifting the car to full height and then placing 12" wooden blocks under the wheels, you can then lower the lift and add the big rubber blocks to get an additional 8". That makes transmission removal a little bit easier than with the standard height, although, I've done three transmission (two not mine) swaps at the regular full height. I love it and use it for my wife's Accord, my daily Crosstour and my son's CRV. Here it is where we did an exhaust swap for my pal's wife's Abarth.
