Default Radiator Screen

I ordered my 2007 White S2000 with red and black interior.
Now I need to find a screen to protect my radiator from taking a rock and blowing up the engine... again, like it did to my 2002 s2k.

I seem to recall someone selling a good looking screen that would allow good airflow, but keep the unprotected vitals safer(trust me they need it).

I did the usual search, but all I got was a post by xviper about using what looks like screen door material. This is an effective solution on the cheap. However, I want a more substantial solution. Like a solid metal mesh.

If anyone has any ideas please point me in the right direction as after spending a couple hours scouring the net I haven't found much.

I want to have these things done hopefully the day I get the car, which should be early to mid Sept.

Thanks,
Robert

By the way if you know anyone who wants a pretty much brand spankin' new White 2006 Civic Si with Navigation, send them my way or give them my email: briterobert@yahoo.com

I couldn't find anyone that makes the kit for the late model(AP2) so I made my own. Used perforated aluminum available from onlinemetals.com and trim edging from a local upholstery supplier. Painted it flat trim black for easy rock chip touch up.

Here is the a link to the ones I bought for my AP1. I am not sure if they make one for AP2's.

From looking at grillcraft's website they don't make it in black, but I will call tomorrow. Worst case senario, I paint it black. They appear to be the only ones making the grill for the newer cars.

thanks for the quick assistance, I will post back once I find out if they make it in black for a 2007 (same as an 2006).

It's amazing they get $170 for that. My 12x48 sheet of perforated aluminum was $40 and the trim edging was $12. Took about 2 hours to make a pattern, cut the metal, paint it and install it.

So, let's do the math ..............................
Materials .................................................. .... $40.00
Cutting .................................................. ...... $12.00
Paint, let's say ............................................. $ 5.00
2 hours labour at standard shop time ............ $100.00
Total .................................................. ........................... $157.00 (conservative)

You don't think they should make at least 13 bucks?
