Default radio code, where to get

i cant seem to find my radio code card and just installed my cai. i called my local dealership asking if they could give me the code if i had the vin and they said they are unable to get warranty card, and i would have to go through honda directly ( im reading this as "im lazy and dont want to be of service") is there anyway to get the radio code through honda dealerships, or is it going to be a hastle?

My dealer's service guy made the call and got it from Honda for me. You'll need to take the car in or proof of ownership.

My understanding is that given the radio's serial number, the dealer can get the lockout code from Honda. The serial number is on the back of the radio, though.

pull out your stock radio
Tutorial here

Get the serial number off it

Go to your local honda dealer with ID and insurance card and give them the serial number, they can get you the radio code.

DON'T PULL OUT YOUR RADIO !!!!
Go to the FAQ of this very forum and it tells you which buttons to push on the radio to get the serial number...then you gotta go to honda and they put it in their computer and voila, a radio code is in your future.

Oh hell, I'll even get the link for you...

My dealer showed me that the code was in the top center storage compartment (where the sunglasses and CDs go, I guess...). Check there.....

How crazy would it be to put the code to the radio in the car? So many people say it though, maybe some cars have it.

Mine has the SERIAL number of the radio on the console door. With that a dealer should get you the CODE that makes the radio work although I hope the dealers aren't just handing them out over the phone.
