I think it also acts as a security feature. Perhaps it deters thieves away from stealing the radio.

Back in the day stereo theft was a real problem. You never knew when you got back to your car if the radio would still be there. A nice, new Alpine stereo head would cost like near $1k, and we're talkin' 90's dollars.

But by the time the S came out, that problem was on the decline, for several reasons. Not to mention there really was never any market for used Honda stereos (though maybe they were thinking about expensive aftermarket radios we might install.)

Now if they would have put the same thought and effort into protecting our seats...
Sounds legit.

And that's why I love it. Suppose it is just a "hey this would be cool" thing after all.

Actually, that might not be what you think it is. I have been noticing that the site is experiencing a lot of duplicate posts lately across multiple sub-forums which don't appear to be user error or intentional. I have reported what appears to be a technical issue/malfunction in Site Info.

You are correct...this was not intentional on my part... I am NOT that clever!

And by the way, my post doesn't show up twice when I look at the thread from my browser...

That's because a moderator has "hidden" the duplicate posts that showed up in the thread since they aren't needed. They are actually still there so that the powers that be can review what might be a technical glitch, but they are hidden from general view pending review of what the heck is going on.

Basically, think of it as the Mods run through with a broom every now and then.

(And now back to discussion about what the heck the radio door is for)

Dup posts. I use the forums mobile app. Often when I try to submit post I get stuck in an endless loop with a spinning progress counter, just spinning away. If I touch the screen anywhere, it stops, and I am back in my post like I was still typing it.

Sometimes when this happens it did actually post, sometimes not. So if I back out back to viewing the thread, if my post is not there, I have to type it all over again. If instead of backing out I try to submit again, it works, but then sometimes that means there will be a DUP post.

Maybe this is happening to others as well, and this is where all the dups are coming from

I always go back and edit the DUP and say something derogatory about the mobile app.
