Default Removing the "dealer stamp"?

One thing that irritates me about dealerships is their need to put those annoying little "stamps" directly onto the paint, in order to market their store. I'm talking about that annoying sticker on the back of the car, essentially branding it as their product.

Does anyone know of a good product, or the safest way to remove that stamp without damaging the paint? It's really been bothering me since I got my s2000 back in December, and is an eyesore to an otherwise beautiful car.

Goof Off or Ooops work really. Some even use WD-40.

I HATE how they do that. I had a car with that crap on it and when I peeled the stuff off the paint was nicer than the rest of the car that had faded a bit.

Just clean the area and work it with your nails. 3M adhesive remover might help some also.

Peel it off real slow and you should't have a problem. Let it sit out in the sun for a while before trying.

I won't drive a car off the lot until the dealer removes the sticker without harming the paint. Same thing with those tacky license plate frames. I remove those ugly things the second I get home.

...now if the dealership paid me for advertising, I might leave that junk on

What I have done in the past is simply take a towel/cloth and put it under scorching hot water. Once you have the hot towel ready, place it over the "stamp" and let it heat up for a minute. Proceed to peel sticker off with your finger nail, it should start to come off easily at this point. Keep a small pail of hot water beside you to dunk it every so often and repeat above.

I find the hot water heats up the glue on the sticker/stamp, and makes it easier to remove.

thanks guys, I didn't realize it was that easy. I was concerned with it being baked into the paint or something of that nature. just used your advice, some hot water and a towel, plus some fingernail work did the trick.

when I buy or lease a new vehicle - i always tell the sales & service reps that i will not accept delivery of the car if there are any badges, stickers or painted logos on it that did not come from the factory. I'd say in the last 10 years they have all but one listened to my request. I had the service guy remove the emblem right in front of the store with other customers watching the process.

If it were me I'd go with heat gun &/or googone...3M also makes a good product that breaks down the adhesives on these eye sores.

I would do the same thing, unless they were willing to pay me a monthly fee for the mobile advertising I'd be doing for them.
