s2000 converting while rolling

i know there are a few convertable that allow you to put the top down while rolling i.e. some porshe you can top down at speeds up to 25-30 mph?
although im sure the s2000s convertable wasnt designed to top down while moving is there any by to bybass the parking brake thingy so u can put the top down/up while rolling at say around 5-20 mph?

i mean if ur driving top down and it starts raining wouldnt it be a pain on the to pull over park to put the top up, wouldnt it be nice if u could just slow down alot or put it up at a red light and start rolling?

Yes, it's annoying. Had that situation happen twice earlier this week where I had to come to a complete stop, pull the brake, get drenched, then put the top up. 15 or 20 miles an hour should be an acceptable cutoff speed for working the top.

How spoiled have we become?!

I think the S2000 is as quick and easy as it can be. I've put the top up at red lights -- it takes like 6 seconds.

If it starts to rain hard -- just pull off like it's a pit stop. Hit your mark, yank the brake lever, push the button. Clamp the two brackets, release the brake, and squeal off. It makes it fun.

You just don't want to be on the highway!

It can be done! There is a thread out there and I can't seem to find it. Apparently it is a simple DIY mod.

The thread shows you how to cut or pull the speed sensor wire and e-brake sensor and put your top down while driving. Or you can pull or cut the speed sensor wire and just pull the e-brake up one click to trigger the sensor and put the top down while driving.

This is probably the thread you're looking for:

And here's the argument about whether your car will explode if you do this:

Yeah it's easy and quick, but there's nothing more annoying that having to wipe down your water-spotted interior cause you had to stop with your top down for 6 seconds in a sudden downpour.

Speed regulated operation yes, but emergency brake?!.....dumb!

its simple, pull the panel out on the passanger side where a glove compartment would be, there will be a three bundles of wires. there is one bundle with a white wire with a black line, its the only one that color combo, becareful there is another white wire with a dark blue line make sure you have good light to tell the difference between to the two . cut the white with black line and call it a day. now all you have to do is put the e brake on the first click and the top will go down while driving. simple

I don't think it is "the top will go down" that they wanted, it is "the top will go up while driving" that they wanted.

ok well it will do the same either way. you are cutting the speed sensor wire. so it will go up and down. i live in SoFlo and sudden rain storms are all too commen thats why i did this mod.

Also according to my owners manual MY04 you can unplug the power to the top and lift it manually, mine has a handle in the middle so I guess if the wind wasn't too bad you could close it manually whil rolling.
