I kept detailed records on a long trip I took if you want to see the kind of mileage you should expect on the road:

im on a mission to see how many miles i can squeeze out of an S2k fuel tank.. latest is 325mi. Some people may think this is pointless. I just want to do it for the record.

Change your air and fuel filters, spark plugs, spark plug wires, oil, diff, tranny fluid and get your fuel injectors cleaned and air your tires up to 32 psi all around. I bet you $20 bucks you get over 22+ mpg with the same driving patterns.

Assuming that I had about 20 miles worth left before the car actually stalled from lack of fuel, my gas mileage is

Definitely calculate your actual MPG. It's not hard. Reset your trip meter at each fill up. Jot the miles on your gas receipt (which will tell you exactly how many gallons you're putting in/how many gallons you used) and bust out the calculator later. Guesstimating miles per tank like you are will result in a massive margin of error, making it pretty useless IMO.

Street only driving is typically 18-19 mpg for short trips with lots of stop and go.
High speed (80+) highwy driving yields 26-27 mpg.
That's pretty much my experience. I can definitely tell when I have taken road trips in the S just by looking at my MPG records.

I have about 330 miles on my trip right now and it just lost the last bar on th fuel gauge. I could drive about 30 more miles before I ran out of gas. Dang, I bet someone could squeeze 400 out of a tank.
