S2000 Mileage

I'm new to the S2000 forum. Looking for a Laguna blue S2000, found a 2007 with 237,000 miles....what would be a fair price and is it worth even considering an S2000 with high mileage...any advice would be appreciated...Thanks, Greg.

that is lots of miles, but not unheard of. provided all maintenance is up to date, body shows no rust, top is presentable...so, in other words, ready to drive without being a basket case/project. Think engine replacement - if needed- will maybe cost you $4000, so, I'd offer $10,000.

Thanks Darcy....I also got some good advice from IA-SteveB....going to pass on anything I can't buy locally....and I don't need another headache with a high mileage car.

One of my best friends has an AP1 with 255k. His car runs and drives great. My AP1 has 150k. Also runs and drives great. 400k of reliable autos between us

when I was at billman getting the valves adjusted on my car, I saw one of his clients there with an AP1 that had 275k on it, and ran fine. He told me that these engines will do 300+ all day long if they were/are cared for. If the car has no rust/accidents or stories, and the price is right, I'd do it, but I wouldn't pay more than $6-7k

If high miles I look for single owner if possible.
We just bought an 06 Civic for my mother in law with 256k miles on it. It's a single owner car and in perfect mechanical shape. It will do another 100k if well maintained.

This is amazing. And here I thought it was a good idea to buy a second s2k with 17.5K miles for my retirement in about 5 years when my first s2k has just 35K miles right now. I won't lose anything much on these cars. But, I'm beginning to think I should just pick the one I like best and pass the other one on. It seems that if you just do good maintenance and fix what needs fixing both of these cars are going to outlive me.

In reality, for me, the biggest threat is an idiot young person texting and ending my S2000's life prematurely.
