The clear bra will not fully protect you. Many of the chips that I have are beyond what the clear bra covers. By the way, the mirrors chip while not even moving they are so fragile! Also, the clear bra looks tolerable on other cars, but from the S's here with it on, I think it looks terrible on the bumper because of all the compound curves but looks ok on the hood and fenders.

BTW, My cf hood has no chips in it and has been on the car for about 8k miles and some track events. the clear that is on the cf hood is very tough.

The paint is a little sub-par. Especially on plastic parts. The edges of my side-view mirrors are white. All the paint has plain fallen off where the arms meet the door panel.

My front fascia is looking a little bleak as well.

An empty McDonalds cup flew out of the bed of a truck on the highway and hit my hood. That completely rubbed off the clear coat in a hoofed shape pattern right in the middle of the panel.

Wax does not provide any impact protection.

i have swirl marks that can be buffed out, my front fascia is chipped and cracked...it also has severe curb rash on the bottom because whoever had the care before me must have bottomed out or curbed it...

as for the paint...i think the red is fading some..its chipped off in several places, especially the door and hood edges...so yeah i think it could be better..

Daily drive anything and your front end will get beat up.. its paint.. it chips, its not like any car has a special type of paint they secretly use... if anything you should be discussing what types of clear coat are being used since thats your actual protection from the elements not your paint.

unless you have some sort of wax that generates a force field after application, that isn't going to matter.

...and yes, my car has plenty of "wax" on it.

It chips bad. I don't like it. I have to repaint spots for $350 smackers a wack all the time to keep it looking good.

Different manufacturers use different method and materials. Some are more durable than others, it's a fact. I work people's paint all the time so I get to see it first hand.

I have three cars, two of them with many more miles than the S2000. I have only one chip all the way to the metal on either of those cars. On the s2000 I have many.

Yeah I had my Bimmer for 5 years and the paint looked almost brand-new. The clear-coat on there must have been alot tougher than the one they use on Hondas. I don't mind a few marks on the front, but would like to minimize anything that detracts from the looks. It sounds like my best bet is a clear bra then for the hood, fender, and mirrors?
