Default Is this a s2k 2002? Euro or 2001?

Hi Folks are you able to tell what year this S2000 is? I was told by the owner that it is a 2002 model, however I see no Chrome around the rear tail lights or fronts.

I think the Dealer sold a 2001 and it was registered in 2002!

It is on sale for CHF 27,400 (Swiss Francs), 40,000 KMs only (Not miles) with Hard Top. Due to the crisis these cars are just not selling. So I think I can kick off 10% at least.

Thanks in advance.

WallSt en Suisse

PS I will put my purchase on hold now. I am looking for a 2002 in Silver with Red, however after looking at the Black with red interiors they also awesome. What do you think.

Have a picture of the gauge cluster? Soft top up? Interior pics?

The taillights are MY00 - 01 as are the rims and plastic cover on the back of the headrests.

Keep in mind though the price of the hardtop... which you said this car came with... You will have to weigh it out.

I need a lot of weighing up indeed - like I love the Black too. It is clear this one is a 2001.

Is there a driving difference between either the 2001 vs 2002. I read the 2002 front bar was made better or something along those lines.

Not a whole lot of difference but some mainly to the rear ends eagerness to take the lead over the front ... especially to a new driver. More seasoned drivers of the S can feel the differences.

This should give you all the details you need:

Thank you mate - so glad I have spent even longer on this re-reading about the car.

I have a number of other choices

2005 with 50k miles
2003 or a number of 2002s with 20k miles on average no more than 40k miles

2004 not seen too many for sale, but each week new ones pop up. I think 1 to 2 are sold visibly from 2 websites in Switzerland. The owners baby the cars usually, so I reckon I can pick up one with ease.

After reading the forums on Model Differences, I am swaying to wait for the right 2004 to 2005. Differences in stability and body chassis that is AP2 are appealing.

Switzerland did not have the 2.2 litre engine, in fact I cannot see it even in the 2007. I may wrong but the websites do not show these details.

Thanks again Mulder, your help is awesome and fine-points my search for the correct car.

I definitely know I want a red interior on either Silver or Black, which deal comes first will be the car.

You won't find a 2.2 engine, but you're not missing much. I think you'll do just fine in a 2.0.
