S2k owner

Do any of you s2k owners have a problem of people being jealous of you. Since I have gotten my s2k, a lot of people have been very jealous of me. I kind of expected it from some people, but so many more people than I thought are being real assholes towards me. I don't act snotty or anything like that since having my car. Anyone else have similiar experiences?

I would think it's only because of your age. Question...is the jealousy coming from people you know well? If that's the case, then there's probably something wrong with the way you carry yourself. If it's from people you hardly know, then it's superficial and you can afford to let it slide. I'm young too, but I haven't encountered any bad jealousy at all.

I totally understand what you're going through. Always remember it's YOUR car and who gives a damn about what others think about it and about you. (As long as they keep their greasy fingers off that wonderful paint) And if your car changes the way your "friends" treat you, than they aren't really the "friends" you thought they were right? I'm 20 by the way and people usually are surprised to find a 20 year old with a baseball cap on backwards driving along the freeway. Of course, I just laugh my ass off. I can't even imagine the looks a 16 year old would get ...

Many maladjusted people react with envy when they perceive you to be in 'a better postion' than they are.

I saw an S2K once and I mentioned to my friend that that I hate guys who looks so cocky. Then my friend said "Wouldn't you look cocky if you had the car?" Then I thought about it and agreed with him. If you have a cool car even if you don't want to look cocky you will appear to be to a lot of people. Hope this helps.

I encounter the same situation. I just turned 27. At work, I manage about a dozen people in about the same age range as myself.

When I got my new Acura TL last year, people started talked crap. Saying that I was a momma's boy, etc, etc. LOL Now that I have my S2000, I suddenly became the a$$hole of the office. Go figure...

most of the time, people are really happy for me, that I have this car. Most of the kids from school I know are really cool about me having the car. They love to see it and go for rides in it Also, I get a lot of good reactions when I drove the s2k around (almost all of them have been positive) What I didn't expect is all of the adults, especially my neighbors who are just not nice about me having this car. Like Muz said, I think a lot of them are jealous and maladjusted that they could not have this car or they couldn't get this car for their children. I think I just have to learn to ignore all of these people who are bothering me.

i'm glad i started this thread, it has given me an outlet to "vent"

For me personally, I get irritated by people who think my parents bought this car for me or something. I mean, if they had done this, great ... but in my case it's not the truth. I work close to 50 hours a week and I also work graveyard shift as a security guard 3 nights a week, so I think I deserve to drive this car without people thinking it was a gift from mommy. However, I do realize this comes with the territory and it's something we all need to live with since this is one BADASS CAR!

to be honest, my dad did by this car for me, but that doesn't mean I am a useless spoiled brat who gets everything. I do get a lot of things and I am very greatful that I do. BUT I work and I make half of the financing payment ever month.
