Default S2K Tired to Kill its self. *updated with photos

Well its been a sad and long weekend.

First my younger brother (27) was rushed to the hospital because they thought he was having a heart attack 48 hrs latter in the hospital they can not explain why he blacked out while driving 80 woke up on the side of the road and had no clue how he got there. That was Thursday.

Friday my little lady ahs the S2k like she does every weekend when she is in town. Calls my in tears like she ran over my dog (which I thought she had). All I can hear is the car roll down the hill and hit the fence. The Car hit the fence. After I figured out my dogs were ok I found out where she was and race to her in Austin rush hour traffic. I get to where the car was, it had roll back 50' or so and taken out a good section of fence. She had parked it on the hill in 1st gear, with the e-brake on. I am not mad since the Dogs were ok, she was ok, and no one else had been hurt. She explains to me she had try 5-6 times to get the top to go down with the E-brake on re-setting the brake each time. Drove less in then 2 miles from the house to the place where the car rolled down the hill. We have had the car jump out of gear 5-6 tims in the 6 months we had owned the car but did not worry since it seams to be a normal issue here on the boards. So once the two truck shows up 2 hrs latter and a 6 pack of Shiner. The pull it off the fence with everything left as is. Bumper totaled, right rear fender tweaked due to the bumper pushing up on it, rear taillight looks ok truck looks ok, Tail pipe hit the fence and a little off, and the bumper was pushed into the tire. So now the car is off to the dealer to get the e-brake check out with the insurance company sending a guy over to watch the testing and inspection of the break. Progessive puts us in a nice 2005 with less then 500 miles Jeep Grand Cherokee. (still waiting to hear from Honda, waiting to get the pictures back. Can some one host the photos so we can post online?)

So Sunday After having 3-4 bottles of wine with dinner at home and bad thunder storms most of the night. I wake up to Holy $hit, HOly, $hit....etc. I race outside in my boxers. The Tree next door fell down in my yard 60-70 years old. Was 1' from the rental and I has happy I was too drunk to move the truck back into the driveway prior to going to sleep (or passing out). So in 48 hrs I have had 2 clams with my insurance company one for the car the other to get the tree cut down and hauled off. I just had to vent a tad since I twisted my foot bad yesterday and it hurts like hell today.

EMail me if you can host some photos

Wo, that really sucks. I had a 280ZX roll on me once like that, during prom night.... yes I parked correctly, but the e-brake cable snapped and my Z rolled into a neighbor's tree. I got it the next morning while the neighbor was cutting his lawn, around my Z...

I think you can post photos in the Gallery section of the site (not the gallery forum) I'd suggest "wrecked S2k's" section...

Sorry to hear.

I have the same problem with my S. I parked it infront of my bfs house only to find out from his brother that the car rolled out of the driveway (very slight angle)and into the middle of the street. Luckily my car didn't hit or get hit by anything. I had also put my e brake up all the way.

I had that same problem with my ebrake but I guess because the brakes start to cool and the pressure on the ebrake is not as great. I always do an extra few clicks on leave it in gear. Sorry to hear about your other drama my neighbor had a brain aneurism he black out all of the sudden and has to be rush to the hospital.

that definitely was a crazy chain of events...hope your brother is okay. did they figure out what happened yet? it's good that no one was hurt too from those incidents.

do you guys leave your car in gear when you park? i normally do unless i'm on a level surface, like in a garage or something.

Sorry to hear of all the bad things that happened to you.

She had parked it on the hill in 1st gear, with the e-brake on.
This is the first time I have heard of a car rolling when parked in gear. I think that besides checking out your e-brake, it is probably more important to check out your transmission and drive-train. The car should not roll when it is parked in gear, regardless of the e-brake.

yeah you need to check your transmission. the gear popping out is not really "normal" either. your transmission shouldn't do that.

and when parked, it should NEVER do that. there is no reason for that. make sure they check your transmission if she had it in 1st gear while parked and it still rolled down the hill.

and yeah the brakes can cool a bit depending on how hard the car was driven, so if you use the E-brake, you should always crank that mofo. lol

You don't even need to use the e-brake if the car is parked properly - ie, in gear.

I find it VERY hard to believe the transmission poped out of first gear while the car was parked. Chances are, it was never in gear.

E-brakes giving out is nothing new.

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune.
