Question Serious question: s2k or 370z?

I understand i am asking this on a site solely for s2ks. But lets try not to be biased here. I am selling my current car soon and am really digging either an s2k or a 370z but cant seem to set my mind to one.
what are your opinions on both cars? Is the maintenance cost for an s2k expensive? Also have any of you owned both cars?
please help me find which one is the right car. All comments will be appreciated!

In a nutshell the 370 out of the box is a marginally higher performer, mostly because of the engine output to weight ratio, but the S2k feels smaller and is more fun and flickable and also because of the weight has very high performance platform to build on later. There is no maint cost with an S2k over any other Honda, which is basically nothing but cheap filter and fluid changes. Its also an inline 4 making anything you do around the engine much easier then the cramped v6 engine bay of the Z. The S2000 will hold a better resale and collectors value over the Z if the 350 is any indication. The 370 convert is butt ugly, as it was designed as a coupe. The s2000 in looks is hard to match, it was well designed as a convert roadster. The proportions are still head turning today, especially when lowered a bit.

If you want a mini mustang, get the 370. If you want a traditional sportscar, get the S.

If you want to go fast, get the 370. If you want a drivers car, get the S.

Really depends on what the car is for. The s2k more than likely will be cheaper at the initial cost, maintenance and with depreciation. The 370z is gonna be by far a faster vehicle for straight line performance. Will this be your only vehicle? If so, how far do you travel? The S isn't the most practical daily driver. All depends on what ya need it for.

I remember there was a video by Best Motoring (Japnese car video)where they had 370z and S2000 Type S, along with a few other cars on the track. 370Z was quite a bit faster. I would imagine in real world, 370z would be faster too due to power to weight ratio. If speed is all you care, 370z it is.

The S2000 is a roadster (unless encumbered with a hard top). The 370Z is just another coupe. Whatcha want? I want an open car as I can get a roof on any other car. But if this was to be my only car I'd not choose the S2000 because it is a roadster. I admit it took me three (3) roadsters to learn (several times) how impractical 2-seat convertibles are for every day, all year use. My S2000 s #4 and is my nice weather car which goes in the garage for the winter. Is garaged nightly the rest of the year. I'd not consider any convertible if I had to park it outdoors. Theft and weather are not compatible to these cars. Apartment/campus parking is especially bad.

Go test drive both of them and then ask yourself which one speaks to you. I have my bias, but want you to see for yourself.

Sorry, but for the money, a good C5 Z06 can be had and it's much faster than both, straight line and track. Has a lot more room than a 370, but not quite as fun to drive as an S.

Mine hasn't been hard to maintain, and parts are everywhere. I wouldn't get one if I didn't wrench myself. Shop rates are killer.

If you value the convertible go with the S2K. The S2K is incredibly fun to drive on the back roads and twisties. The 370z has much more power, an excellent sounding engine, and a bit more refinement and features. My S is my weekend car, I definitely would not want to daily one.

Back in '05 I test drove the AP2 and 350Z. To me it was a night-and-day difference in terms of driving experience. For me the S was much more in tune with the road and the Z felt fairly detached. I ended up buying an S and really enjoyed it. I hope this helps...
