Silverstone and Chicane Silver
Just wondering, has anybody mixed say a Chicane silver front oem lip to a Silverstone s2000? I'm looking to get a oem front lip but it's so damn hard to find it in silverstone.
Hoping somebody will chime in and if anybody has detailed pics of both silvers side by side? Thanks |
Chicane is quite a few shades darker, will not match at all.

It's definitely a little darker than Silverstone. In this photo the left car is Chicane and the right one is Silverstone. Also, the Chicane car has a Silverstone lip on it so you can see the slight difference between the two and help you make a decision.

May we assume you have an AP2/Facelift car, the front spoilers are different. You need Silverstone, Chicane or Silverstone ain't gonna match. No handy photo but I've parked my Silverstone between Sebring (lightest) and Chicane Silver (darkest) cars and the color differences are more than subtle. OEM Silverstone front spoilers dried up only recently. Not surprising as they're the commonest of the Silver. If searching note Honda calls this a spoiler. Not exactly sure what a lip might be unless it's something tacked on below the spoiler. I recall the Mighty Car Mod lads using garden skirting to make a front lip. ;)
No matter about color as your front bumper is no doubt so full of stone chips you'll want it refinished before mounting the spoiler anyway and they can be painted at the same time. (There's a gasket of some sort between the OEM parts so they should be painted separately off the car and then mounted.) Painting a $350 OE spoiler a different color makes little sense to me when there are decent (with some work) reproductions available for less than $100. -- Chuck |
