so going back to the skunk2 cams... its sounding like a good idea (if i can get my self to spend even more money on the build... either the tradeoff will be Diff reinforced with 4.57 or cams). With the cams, should I be using Ti retainers?
what problems has Toda had?

August 06' Honda Tuning- they install a bunch of Skunk2 parts and run em. Cams, springs, & retainers, throttle body, exhaust, header, magnaflow hi flow cat, and net almost nothing. This was done on an AP2 05'. They say that the head needs porting to take advantage of the cams. The only thing positive was 8hp gain from the header, which should be available by years end. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Here's some math for ya if you don't believe me...
right now the F20C5 at full song flows (1997cc x 9000 rpm)=634.711 cfm. I'll post the math if you want, but I'm sure you can figure it out. Individual cylinder flow = 158.678 cfm. Now I'm not sure of the exact flowrates our heads are capable of, but I'll be willing to bet that it's a hell of a lot higher than 160 cfm per chamber. Cams are not going to alter this flowrate by any amount enough to warrant a porting job...A 2.5L stroker kit capable of spinning 9k rpm is going to have a much more drastic effect on the flowrate of the engine than the changing of a cam, and nobody that I know of has bothered to port the head after a stroker install. Just some food for thought.
Oh, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of this, as I've been known to mess up monday details now and then...

you are wrong on your inforomation.
i have that issue.
they haven't dynoed anything they installed.. the 8hp gain is coming from Skunk2 in relation to their header.
