So TIRED of hearing about the impractibility

It seems like youre harboring a lot of resentment there. Have you tried taking your friends aside and expressing your feelings to them?
Dont keep it inside, you need to let them know how you feel before its too late!

Not just cars, but I have to hear a lot of cr*p about my collection of antique steel road bikes instead of modern carbon fiber. (people being judgmental - just turn on any news program these days).
Anyway, installed a second bike rack yesterday, this time on the Boxster, so as soon as the weather clears I can have a Porsche + bike test ride, best of both worlds and get the last laugh. Alone.
BTW, towed home 1/2 ton of bagged gravel behind the S2000 a week ago, no problems.
I think I'm done venting now...

But I expect people to joke about it, that is normal. But if they are really giving you real grief over it, just tell them to pound sand!

Your friends may be a bit jealous. I've been wanting to buy another roadster for over 10 years now. You bet I'd be jealous if one of my friends bought an S or something similar, whether it's their DD or not. The easiest way to justify their decision to own a Camry or whatever is to say that you think it's an impractical decision.
Similarly, "Dude you spent HOW MUCH on a house? That's a lot of money!" Jealousy, etc. etc.

Practicality is relative. I love my S2K and recognize that it's completely impractical given my living/working circumstances. I call it what it is, still love it and that's why I have a Subaru as a daily

Sports cars have been some of the most practical cars I've owned in some regards. When hatchbacks were a thing, getting plywood or loads of gear in was possible but not in a sedan, and a convertible like the S offers unlimited headroom. With the roof up on the S, there is a lot of storage behind the seats.
if anybody in an SUV told me my choice wasn't practical, I'd just ask them why they're not driving a minivan.
