Default so today on a hill

ok. here is what happened today while i was driving.

i'm in my car up a small hill 2nd in line waiting to make a left turn while the traffic light is red. i don't know if im imagining things or not but while waiting i think this f#@! driving a toyota behind me hit my bumper or creeped up to it and hit it. i assumed this because after quickly glancing at my rear mirror, i noticed the car behind me being WAY too close, i released the brakes to see if i would roll back and i didn't. which either means the car was up my bumper or something else is going on. it was too cold outside so i didn't bother getting out of the car to inspect while waiting in traffic so i drove home ticked off. after arriving home i look at the back bumper and i don't see any marks, dents, paint chips or anything. so my question is wtf happened? why didn't i roll back? did the car behind me actually creep up and lightly hit my bumper?
the music was on too loud so i didn't hear anything unordinary nor did i notice my car being pushed forward. but i'm still pondering why my car wouldn't roll back as i was on a slight hill

thanks in advanced for any feedback

He probably touched your car very lightly, just enough to prevent you from rolling back, and not enough to damage your paint. Any other explanation would be unordinary.

probally barely touched your bumper, sounds like there was no harm done though, so i would consider yourself lucky and move on.

RELEASE YOUR PARKING BRAKE!!! you know you shouldn't drive with that on.

I'm not sure what happened there but it does sound like he was behind you. no damage done so thats good.

maybe your clutch wasn't disengaged ALL the way so your gear was keeping you stationary but not moving?

just trying to branch out from the possibility that he was against you.

I think that if he was really close but NOT touching you, and you decided to purposely roll backwards just to see if he was touching you, and then you roll backwards into him because he wasn't touching you...it just seems like a bad idea.

He probably tapped you - it feels worse than it is when you get bumped.
