Price not dependent, I personally think the CR is more "special" than the base NSX. Price dependent per this article, the NSX without a doubt.

NSX all day long at that price. At $79k, you can buy a frog-eyes NA2 (2002-05) with some miles on it.

...or, cheap out and buy an early NA1 NSX (1991-96 for 6MTs) AND an AP1 S2000 and still have money leftover.

...or, neither and just buy an investment property, stock, or your favored combination.

since you asked, neither. I already own an s2000 that I can drive and not care about its future value- it is invaluable to me as an enjoyable conveyance.

the s2000 is not old enough to garner appreciation on that scale...yet. in time, like the integra TypeR, or that low mileage Prelude on BaT (at $30K currently), it will. Just because its rare, does not make it valuable. I believe the seller is looking to capitalize on the goofy s2000 low mileage pricing that some insane people are buying into. Does anyone remember that a short 10 years ago, Honda couldn't move these toys out of the toy box with the recession and such going on.

Maybe I'll be.wrong and I'll be eating crow.

For my $80K, I'd rather keep my current s2000 and invest the money in my retirement.

Well - for the money you'd be stupid to not buy the NSX.
You can get a superb condition S2000 for less than 30k still which will be more fun to drive than a garage queen S2000 you won't ever want to drive.
