Default Spoon 4-pod brake caliper: close up pics

Went to Spoon Sports and took some nice brake pics.
Great quality.
See pics of all the proto types they've gone through.

Would you like to spend a few thousand bucks for this?

I would!

cheers,

Hmm yum - Monoblock calipers - much better than the brembo kit.

spoon ap1 - are you sure you have the same calipers?? If i remember correctly you had the 2 piece design still, rather than the single monoblock piece which is much more rigid

The previous spoon designs (as are alot of manufacturers) are made out of 2 pieces and are held together by heavy duty bolts. You can tell, firstly by the bolts, and also the join line on top of the caliper.

If you look at the new caliper, there are no bolts, and no join line - ala monoblock. ie. the whole caliper is one piece.

A One piece caliper will reduce flex of the caliper itself.

tze - Nope... I definitely have the same calipers... monoblock design. Like I said... Spoon sent out one of the very first sets of production calipers to install on my car for the Hot Import Nights show in Seattle.

... and yes... monoblock IS better!
