My wife and I went to Prolene's place for installation of my new, cermaic coated Spoon header. Again, the ride to Prolene's place was exciting, and my wife complained of nausea due to the fast corners and sharp U-turns, all the things our cars are made for :D

Anyways, I was very excited as this would be one of the last steps in completing my intake/exhaust modifications to the car.

HELP!!! Mingster is stuck and can't get out from under the car!!!

Looks like Prolene (in black, front of the car) and Mingster are both stuck under the car...

Finally, the stock header was removed.

Prolene helping with the Spoon headers' install. We realized the header must be installed from underneath the car after a few failed attempts from the top.

We (actually, Prolene did :D) also installed the Spoon thermostat, and in the process flooded Prolene's garage and Prolene came out from under the car with green hair (coolant) and soaked shirt.

Ok, first impressions after all's done:

"Boy the $hit stinks!" was the first thought that came to mind when I first started the car. It's of course from the residue in the exhaust system, and it went away quickly. The exahust's sound had more "bite" to it during idle.

After the engine warmed up sufficiently, I took her out on a quick run. Initial reaction was extremely positive. Buttometer reported significant increase in low end torque, and the car responds with unusual crispness in VTEC.

The car will go on the dynometer soon, so stay tuned.

What does Spoon claim for horsepower numbers?

What does the butt-dyno say? j/k :) Are you planning a dyno run with this new mod?

How much?

They're not worthless bro.

Perhaps your cache didn't update the wepages after your post?

Like I said, the price will depend on a variety of factors. :)

Richard, how much was the coating from HPCoatings?

$155 plus shipping. That's my company's price, and they may quote something different for you. I may try and get a group buy on it. All the claims they make are IMO so far true: lower underhood temperature, great finish, etc. I don't know about HP ratings since I never installed it and dynoed it, and got it coated right away.

Richard,

The coating looks great! Glad that came out good for you. Guess I'll be doing that after I get my headers.
