Stock suspension questions..need new shocks soon
 

I am in the process of getting myself new shocks since my stock shocks are leaking (40k on the car). I am lending toward just getting another OEM set as a replacement since I really like the feel of them on the street and at the track. And if I want to upgrade my suspension then I would just get something more track oriented like the KW or Tein RA rather than spending on a cheaper set up (I have heard that some changed to a cheaper aftermarket suspension and their lap time have not been improve or in some case it was worst than when it was stock so that means the OEM shocks/stock springs work really well with the car)

I just happen to look through the Honda part on the internet and notice that the 2000-01, the stock springs and stock shocks part numbers are identical for both year. But the part numbers for springs and shocks on the 2002-03 changes (different) to the 00-01.

Could you guys tell me, did Honda changed the suspensions on the 02-03 models compare to the original 00-01 (spring rate, different valving on the shocks, swaybars, etc??)? Since I have a 2003 and the 00-01 are more track oriented (so I heard), is it better to just backdate and just get the 00-01 springs and shocks?

Anyone who have happen to track both 00-01 and 02-03, in stock form, are there any different as far as the track performance and driving feel goes?

I like 03 shocks feel a lot as well as AP2, but you have to change sway bars if you go AP2, wear tires, and change alignment accordingly.

KW is an awesome set. If you can, and have money, I would go for it.

I am just about ready to buy the OEM replacement now but I still would like to know the answer on why is the part number for the 00-01 shocks are different than the 02-03. I know that the 00-01 and 02-03 have a different spring rate, but from my understanding that the shocks were unchanged.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I have an 03, but if the 00-01 shocks are more track-oriented then I will just get some used set of 00-01 springs and just get the new 00-01 OEM shocks.

The '02-03 numbers flowing around S2ki have been wrong all along. I did some measurement and found out the '03 rear springs are DEFINITELY stiffer than '00 rear springs.

I'll post to that thread and hopefully someone corrects the original post or I hope people will read my post at the end.
