Default Supercharger questions (that weren't answered elsewhere).

Well, the day of reckoning has come..

Credit Limit
$ 5500.00
Available Credit $ 5500.00
Current Balance $ 0.00

Big grins.. but after a bit of searching, there's a couple things I have unanswered, which maybe someone could give me some insight into?

1) Is an exhaust to reduce back pressure going to be necessary? I may not have the cash for that for some time.

2) Where's the air filter go? Does the kit come with a built in one or something?

3) What kind of installation charges am I looking at? What's the "CORE" charge (200 bucks) mean?

4) What else might I need? Fuel pump.. intercooler? Cooler caps?

5) Is anyone still having any problems? I read about mounting bracket issues and Barry having problems with the s/c not "catching" at WOT:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...rger+impression

Dunno if that's been resolved or not, it was back in January.

and since I don't think I got enough of it elsewhere...

6) Could someone describe a bit more how it feels and sounds? I've read pages and pages on dynos and performance, but almost no one has mentioned how it feels aside from a spattering of "holy ____s". I need more *drool* advice to tell me to spend my money.

Thanks guys.. hope to be a part of the non-na crowd soon NA is for sissies!

Comes w/ everything you need! The instalation is pretty easy if you can follow intructions (maybe 3-4 hours). I`d reccomend an exhaust but it can wait. Filter is inside the airbox that it comes w/. I haven`t had a single problem. Feels awesome..I love it!

I just returned my supercharger ... unopened item, cuz I wanted to wait for the higher boost application and see how that was like before I installed anything. You may want to wait awhile and see what wonderful things technology is about to do for the S2000.

Damn Ryan, I knew I forgot to ask for a ride in the car the last time I saw you. Maybe after you get back from your honeymoon.

Another question about the supercharger and the S2000.

Does anyone with the supercharger have an aftermarket header? Would it be beneficial to have one? I don't know of anyone one this board with a supercharger and an aftermarket header.

The past month i've been thinking about doing the unthinkable, which is to put on a supercharger...

There's absolutley no reason for any mods with the supercharger... I have aftermarket EVERYTHING but have a few horses short of SCS2K's 292 with a stock S2K + SC only...

The SC overshadows every other modification... but does not add to any other modification...

I got my SC just for the hobby of installing it... The car side by side with a stock S2K was barely faster (both floored the throttle rolling at 2000 rpm and both shifted at redline)... we were nose to nose...

If I had to do it again, I wouldn't get the SC... I would just save the money towards an overall faster car... I get more satisfaction from my immense stereo than I do the SC (honestly)

Nothing for immediate, but I got a confirmation from someone high up on the comptech corporate ladder after much hasseling They're still working on it and tuning it, since the engine has such high compression already it's a rather delicate matter. but to me it's worth the wait ... I want the SC badly too, but decided to return mine and wait.
