Even a high-flow cat (which I think is debatable in terms of any gains vs. stock) is illegal per EPA regs as a modification to the emissions control system.

Ok let me ask this... Say for instance you have an aftermarket exhaust(single or dual) with an aftermarket header(I realize some eliminate the cat anyways), but could you still run the OEM cat in between and not really affect performance or flow...??

yeah.. pretty much. i don't think i have ever seen a dyno that compared directly, a catless car vs. one having a cat. but i can't imagine it being more than a few horsepower...in other words, nothing you could feel.

At first I thought wow this stinks.. now I don't even notice the smell at all. I can sit at a light forever with the top down and it doesn't phase me at all.. I think my body needs hydrocarbons to function instead of oxygen.

Whatever, I'll take the dive and tick off all the people who love mother earth

Note Red line is car with invidia exhaust + K&N FIPK
Blue line is invidia exhaust + K&N FIPK + T1R testpipe

Your going to feel a nice power increase for ~100 dollars....

As for the smell, I've always liked the smell of catless fumes so I don't know how people say it "stinks?"
