Throttle seems loose?
When I step on the gas the pedal has to go down like an inch before any gas engages. What do I tighten to fix this? Is it the bolt on the throttle cable? And if so, to I turn it left or right to tighten it?

Go to the end of the throttle cable at the throttle body. There, you will see a couple of nuts that lock the end of the cable sheath to the bracket. You can adjust the free play there using these nuts. The correct tension is when you can move the middle of the exposed throttle cable up and down 1/4".

I was thinking about slighly tightening up my throttle cable for better engine response. However, due to my limited time under the hood, I don't know exactly where the throttle body/cable are located in the engine bay. Does anyone have a picture so I can reference it when I'm poking around under there? I'm sure I could figure it out myself, but a picture would be helpful :hello: Thanks!

This is so weird -- I've been screwing around with this today.
I adjusted the cable to tighten up the slack -- I have about 3mm of slack. You have to loosen the forward nut (the one closest to the front of the car) and then screw in the second nut to tighten up the slack. Just make sure that at rest the throttle plate is not opened. My problem is that now at full throttle I am not longer hitting the throttle pedal stop. I wonder if there is another adjustment loose somewhere. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y25...1111051648.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y25...1111051649.jpg |
I took all the slack out of mine today and I like it much better. Now as soon as I push the pedal it gives gas. Before it had some give in it which I did not like.

Thanks, Robot! I'm gonna do it tonight!
