Toda Header, Comptech CAI/Exhaust Installed - Impressions so far...
Well...
I finally received and installed my Toda header and Comptech CAI to complement the already installed Comptech exhaust system.
Sound: The sound overall has been greatly improved. I'd say it's quite deep without an annoying "tinny" sound of other setups. Also, the additional sound is not over bearing by any means. For the most part, the additional sound is mostly noticed during VTEC. Overall I am very happy with the sound and have already received several compliments about it.
Performance: The additional power was noticeable right out of the gate. While I haven't had much time to experiment yet, I can tell you guys this... The upgrades have definitely brought my grin back ear to ear. The mid range has been improved with a lot more smoothness moving into VTEC at 6k. During VTEC it seems as if the power is most evident and I would say the difference is most noticeable above 6k, which was to be expected. Again, I was quite surprised to see an improvement for my midrange acceleration. All of my experience with the new parts was on an 88 degree day with moderate humidity. I can't wait to see how she performs on a cool evening.

I agree that your mods make the car sound snazzier, but with that said, I'm sure that there are quite a few bone stock S2000s out there that are still putting down more power than you post-mod$.
Not to mention, both the CAI and header have both been dyno proven... It's not my imagination or my buddy's who rode with me after the install that the car had a noticeable power increase.

Thanks,

I'm no authority, but I've read some articles and threads where the intake and exhaust modifications add little to no additional hp and sometimes decrease power.
I think what WRS2K may be saying is that the normal production variation can be as much as + or - 5% for the same engine. So a 240 hp engine could be as much as 252 or as low as 228. Usually the manufacturer only tests a few engines and they use that as the spec for the car literature. I don't think they dyno each engine.
