Top down - open secret compartment all the way?

Default Top down - open secret compartment all the way?
anyone else experience this? When I have the top fully down in my 2009 I’m unable to fully open the secret compartment. Have had this car for a while now, not sure if I’ve never tried or something changed\broke with the roof. No issues with the roof or anything, but there is a bar that prevents the secret compartment from opening all the way. Anyone confirm for me if this is working as designed?!

It should work both ways, whether the top is down or not. The hinge is where I would look at if there is an issue.

Top has nothing to do with the secret compartment. If the top is indeed interfering the top is not fully retracted and the elastic straps may need to be replaced

That's what I do. I replaced my straps, but I still tap the bar back halfway down.

did you buy aftermarket straps or OEM? I think the OEM part is 86020-S2A-J01. Anyone experienced with installing the oems?

Replace the straps
To confirm push the bar backwards as you lower the roof, the bar will sit lower and not prevent opening the compartment. Very common problem.

Mine does this and I am going to replace the straps this spring. In the meantime, I push the bar back manually when lowering the top.
