1. Oil drain bolt
2. Transmission bolts (upper and lower bolt)
3. Differential bolts (upper and lower)

Thanks!

I've always done the oil drain bolt by "feel" on all my cars. Haven't done the tranny fluid yet. Used torque wrench on diff drain bolt but couldn't do it for the fill bolt - torque wrench wouldn't fit up there. Did that by feel, too. It's great to try to do the "right" thing and by the book but the book ain't always the best thing. eg. 13 ft# for the spark plugs just don't cut it. They come loose.

Thanks! One last thing. Can I just mix the diff, oil, and trans fluids together when disposing? Do you think all the fluids mixed together would turn the color black (so I could just claim it is just my oil ). Thanks again!

xviper, you're scaring me. I just switched to Denso Iridium plugs about a month ago and torqued them to 13 ft#. Should I check them anytime soon? What value have you used? (Nothing performance-wise to indicate a problem--what would be early signs that I might look for?)

Thanks,

cal

All of those are pretty large plugs with washers and a lot of thread area so there is no reason to go overboard with torque. I would not exceed the recommended amounts.

All of the lubricants can be recycled together. I recently discussed this with one of the members that is in the petroleum recycle business because I was concerned about mixing in brake fluid. He explained that it was ok but that a high silicone level could cause a batch to fail so I would think that DOT5 should be disposed of separately, but 3, 4, and 5.1 can recycle with the oil.

Yes, I saw Greg's thread. I had just installed (and torqued down) my Densos at that time and felt secure until your note.

Now I see another thread about valve adjustment. I'm beginning to wonder what kind of quality control Honda has at the s2k plant. It's not like they're running hundreds of cars off the line every day. And I thought Honda had such a great rep for QC.

One summer with my transmission will clear up that misconception for you.
