Traction Control Unit by Racelogic
Have any members installed the traction control unit by Racelogic on their SC 04,05 S cars? If so, what are your general opinions? In specific, has anyone experienced engine failure as a result of fuel shut off? Please, everyone keep their responses to the topic. I am well aware of the fact that my right foot is the best TC device in the world.

Now I'm thinking about doing this rather than upgrading cars. I have tinkered around to make the car more daily drivable in the "other" seasons... hard top, sound deadening, heated seats, upgraded stereo, winter tires.
But it's either drive like a granny all winter long or push it a little and have the nanny reign my R foot in if a rogue patch of sand/salt were to crop up on an otherwise dry road....
It's really all that's left in my mind between my SC S2k and the $30k+ upgrade to a Boxster S.
Is this the one that uses ABS sensors? I thought I remember someone getting that thing...
EDIT: It looks good to me. Though I haven't heard of the OBD-II thing. Depending on which unit you get, you can have launch control, adjustable rev limit, and adjustable traction slip limit.
I like the idea of this adjustability...if it really works.
Woodhouse Auto Group is the United States distributor. That price looks kind of high.

I like the thought of programming in a fuel cut point before dropping it off to a dealership or valet....

BMW M roadster with traction control
I wonder what kind of launch gains you'd get at the track. In those regards, the price is cheaper than an exhaust/intake/headers....

So far, it appears that this unit has not attracted many S owners, no doubt due to the many purists that love the freedom of driving a true sports car. In asking several people driving AP2 S cars, most all of them have stated they enjoy the ability to turn it off when they are either racing or spiritously driving. Since there are many times when I need to use my cell phone while driving in wet and icy condtions, I consider this feature beneficial in terms of contributing along with careful driving to lessen the potential for kissing a curb or other hard object.
I have had several recent discussions with the distributor of this system. Apparently, the unit is designed to shut off the fuel at the injector stage and thereby allow the system to measure "real time rear wheel slippage 100 times per second" and react accordingly with injector cuts to maximize available traction instantly.
Although oversteer has not been that big of a concern except when coming out of a turn to early under increased throttle conditions or during power shifting when the roadway is somewhat uneven, I doubt whether my driving skills are even close to the degree of this system since I am not a professional racer.
The primary purpose behind this thread is to ascertain whether anyone has experienced engine failure that may be attributable to a TC system that employs fuel cutoff technology. Since the engine in my S produces excess of 400 whp, I would like to know if cutting fuel to it would be problematic, even though it is employed at such a high rate of speed.
The distributor states no. They have further stated that the Racelogic system has been installed on approximaty 40 Paxton supercharged 40 SRT 10 Vipers which produce between 750 and 800 whp. I have driven a high performing Viper on a few occasions and IMHO, those cars are extremely difficult to bring back if caught in an oversteer situation.
It would sure be great to hear from someone who has one of these units installed in their vehicle.
