Type V Steering Wheel?

why don't we have this on USDM S2K? http://www.honda.co.jp/news/2000/ima...0_4000707a.jpg

There are lots of things we don't get, TRD. I expect American Honda simply didn't want to deal with the extra documentation, and didn't think it would add to sales.

TRD? You mean for Toyota? I thought we do have that...

Because that car has some sort of active steering system. You don't have to be able to turn the wheel as far. With the normal car, that flat spot on the wheel would be a problem when turning all the way to full lock.

^ Nah, I'm not buying that, Mike. I think the flat spot on the bottom is just to give it more of the F1 look.

Just like Drive By Wire is here now, soon there will be no physical connection between the steering wheel and the steering box. It too will be controlled by the cars ECU. The Variable Geer Steering S2000 (VGS) Is a experimental production car. This is why the car is not exported to any other country. The only exporting of this car is by private party or privet export Co. It truly is a special car.
The wheels design and custom spline have a purpose, SAFTY. When a Honda tech or service writer gets in the car they will know that the car is equipped with this special system and will take mind on how sensitive the steering is. This wheel is only in this car. No other car has it, or will it fit in any other car, only that car.

It can be made to fit in a non VGS car but it is a lot of work ;)

he machined the vgs spline into the usdm wheel's spline. takes 4 hours to do that.

and momo and sparco has a ton of wheels that have that look if that's what you want.
