How much is insurance for the younger male drivers with pretty good records? I have two tickets and have had my license for four years. Is it different between west coast and east coast?
thanks, peoples. |
Insurance rates vary widely from county to county, different drivers, different companies, and different plans. Threads trying to compare can go on forever without a valid comparison. Your best bet is to get some quotes for your situation.

I'm in Dallas, TX. my insurance should go from 125 to 165.. from my civic dx to the s2k. i'm 21 with a clean record but its also a spin off from my parents policy, i pay for it and everything and its in my name but they have ten years of history with this insurance agency that i get a discount for.

A pretty good discount at that. I was paying over $165 for a Civic EX coupe when I was under 25. Turning 25 cut my rates substantially.
I too live in Dallas County and pay about $180 per month for full coverage. I'm 27 with a clean record. And yes, I have shopped around. Zoinks [This message has been edited by Zoinks (edited November 10, 2000).] |
I did go in for a quote today and the price: $1500/6months.
i'm wondering if this is normal. how do i go through my parents? |
Well, a year ago I was paying about $200 a month for full coverage when I got my S2000 back in October of last year. A year later has passed and now I am paying $145 a month with the same coverage. By the way, I was 23 when I bought the car, but soon I will be turning 25 in a couple of months. I've got a clean record on my part. :)

I'm 23 with a clean record. About $150 per month and I am also still using my parent's policy which gives me a big discount. I asked my agent if I should go ahead and get my own policy. He laughed!

my parents won't have to co-sign my car or loan and i think i'll still be able to put it under the same policy.. i hope atleast They called it a spin of policy so its like its my policy but under their history or something i dunno.

Vtec, in addition your insurance company looks at your DE (driving experience - how long do you have your driving license, over 10 years is a good start) besides your driving record. You can also get discount if you have good GPA in school if you are currently in school. Ask them to read to you the discount list so you can determine which discounts you are qualified.
