Default Update "Legal Advice" - dealer damage 2003 S2000

I want to say thanks to everyone for advice provided, it has been great and I've put some to use!

To make a long story short, I've spoken with more people than I want to admit to that are involved or responsible for service surrounding this dealership. After contacting the senior service manager (head of service for 11 individual dealerships) responsible for this location and explain the situation, he was apologetic and informed me they would take care of everything associated to the damage. He said the damage occurred while in their possession and it was their responsibility.

After speaking with the senior service manager I continued to get the run around with the GM at the dealership and had to re-call the service manager to get involved with communication at the dealership!!! The car is now at the body shop of my choice and all costs are covered.

The GM at this dealership still has his head up is %SS and he feels this is my issue, but my goal was to get the repairs done at their cost and this will occur!

Thanks for the great advice and due to the enormous support from co-S2000 owners, its obvious I need to become a s2ki member today!!! THANKS...

I'm glad the dealership is doing the right thing and get your car fixed for you.

If American Honda contacts you, I would definitely mention how the senior service manager helped you out.

It sucks that you will now have a car that's not all original, though

Resale value plummets at this point.

I just had the same problem...

My dealer scraped my front spoiler and tried to deny it 100% until I pointed out the red paint on the curb where my car was parked...

They even went as far to call me a liar...

There is no positive in this situation.....

His 3-month-old car got damaged and now has suffered a severe degredation in value because of it! It wasn't even his fault.

A good friend of mine got a new car compliments of a local dealer just because they took his 1000 mile car for a joyride when he took it in for an oil change (and they didn't even damage it)... He originally owned an '02 black/black and they ended up giving him the next black/black that came in (which happened to be an '03 by that point in time) and all he had to do was pay the transfer fees to get into the new car.

I would push to get a new car out of it... Seriously!

I suggest you take a picture of the damage, if you haven't already, to show the next owner how bad, or how little damage was done.
