Upgrade

For $4-5k what would you do, make it go fast or make it look nice? I'm torn between the two- not really leaning one way or the other.

Something to keep in mind: my next car will be very nice (M3, vette, 335i, maybe elise).

Your thoughts??

I would go FI.

If you are upgrading your ride, save the money an put it towards the the M3.

Anything you add to the S will not only burn the actual cash spent, but also lower the resale value of your car.

Spend 4k now on upgrades, plus lose 2k on resale, vs. 6k closer to the M3.

Absolutely I would go FI. $4-5K with no performance gains I think is a huge waste of money. I guess I am just really not into changing the looks of the S2K at all or appearance mods in general. That way at least when you drive around you can tell a big difference instead of just having a big wing or a body kit.

Invest it. Then you're $4K closer to not having to get up and go to work every day. :) Alternatively, use it for travel. Then you've experienced something outside of your day-to-day commute.

why not do both !?! get your self a nice exhaust & some wheels..

comptech or rotrex S/C kit is what i would do.

investing is another good option, but that would be hard if you arent getting it soon.

you can recover some of the money by selling the kit when you finish.

yeah, just save it if you know you're upgrading from the s2k in the next 1-2 yrs.

else, if u must mod your s2k, well yah u can do forced induction but meh, why do all that when you're gonna change cars anyway (plus it'd be harder to sell off, and more abused).

if u mod, just get nice true jdm wheels, excellent tires (advan, bridgestone re01r, etc), great brake pads and fluid (maybe rotors and calipers if u wanted), maybe some good coilovers and sway bars and usual strut bars and voila....that's all u need, learn to drive it well and that'd be enjoying the s2k in its purest form. (oh and feel free to add in intake, header, exh too lol)

SheDrivesIt 01-02-2008 10:32 AM

Don't the cars come with nice true JDM wheels?

Go with a used super charger and keep anything that's left over. When you're ready to sell, take it back off and sell it for a slight loss, preferably to me :D
