I keep going on about this but I thought it may be interesting to see the S2000 feature on Hagerty's website..... In the US. We in the UK are celebrated less which considerably seems to effect prices over here.

Many thanks for your email. The UK valuation tool is very much a work in progress, we are actively updating the guide every quarter and adding vehicles to the marques currently catered for. The rationale for the price guide is to start off by covering the cars that we are most likely to quote for under our “Classic” policy scheme. We do not usually quote significant numbers of late 1990’s or post 2000 year vehicle’s.
Interestingly, we are actively identifying “future classics” and the Honda S2000 is very much part of that growing list of cars, so no doubt we will add the car at some point in the near future but, no time scales have been released as yet. You could try filtering websites like Auto trader and Piston heads to obtain a good / true market reflection for where the best examples are trading.

Oddly enough, they do list NSX, S600 and S800.

Makes sense to me. The S2000 just isn't old enough yet for starters, and second it isn't in the same league/pedigree as the NSX which was a $90,000 car in 1990 competing in the market place with higher price exotics at the time. S600/S800 are much more rare 1960's classics.

I think this is a perfect example of what happens with anything in scarce supply that still has demand. Overtime the price might look like a bubble but in reality as there are fewer cars available of a specific model and with constant inflation, needing more "paper dollar bills" to buy a car like the NSX or S2000 in really good condition that was the same price say 10-15 years ago seems pretty normal. In the United states money supply increases about 3% per year but other countries have higher rates of increased supply so the "inflated" prices might be even higher depending on where you live.
