Value of repainted s2000

It was painted GPW. So I'm not sure how much of the value has been decreased since its been painted. If it would be 1-5k off or a percent of the stock value.

That's a shame that someone repainted a CR just for a color change. If they could afford the car they could have afforded to get it painted properly, jams and all. I just don't see why you would cheap out on a car like that.
You have to factor in resale for yourself. If you ever want to sell it on, given that it is a highly collectible car, you are going to have people expecting originality and you will lose a lot of buyers due to the fact that it had some questionable decisions made in its ownership history.

Was it a CR before or just after it was painted?
Still have doubts about the story. Anyone with an unmolested CR should have known the value. $14K sounds good.

Honda didn't offer the CR in 2006.

OP I'd probably price it around a similar 06+ AP2 which should already be considerably cheaper than a stock CR. Somewhere in the $19-25k range depending on the milage and condition throughout the car.

I'm one of those guys who was willing to pay more for a clean, all original S2K. There are still more than enough all original cars intact that I wouldn't touch one of these cars that's been repainted (if it was priced in the four figure range I might change my tune on that for a play car). I only offer my perspective because while a repaint might not matter that much to some, there are also plenty of others out there that think and act like me. I can't say whether or not someone looking specifically for a CR would be even pickier than me, but I'd imagine that's a possibility.
One only need to look at the website Bring a Trailer to see how much difference the story and presentation can make from one car to the next (many thousands of dollars). The more original the car, the less there is to question and the better the car is presented the more it brings in return. It all still comes down to supply and demand of course. But since these cars have become collectible in such a short period of time there remains a good percentage of pristine, all-original cars available for those looking for such a S2000. You'll still have to pay some kind of a premium for it being a CR and only you can decide what that's worth. If you can verify that this is actually a CR then this car will always hold a bit more value for that reason. But Id guess that the difference in value between this car and an all original CR is only going to grow larger and larger over time. When all is said and done, since you're only looking for a play car this should all work to your advantage and you should be able to lowball them pretty well on the price.
