Default Vibration

My First post. I have 2200 miles on my 2003 - S. Kids are just about out of College and it's my turn!!!

Two days ago I noticed a vibration between 3500 & 5000 RPM. It's not one of those low tone mirror shaking things, but one that is high frequency. It is felt mostly in the pedals, shifter and less noticeable elsewhere.

Called Honda, taking in Monday. Any ideas on what this could be and how to handle matters with the dealership?

Forgot to say that the vibration is at a range that will leave your gas foot tingling after 10 to 15 minutes.

Mine has had this vibration since new. Sometime make foot fall asleep. Got worse when I changed the exhaust. I just wear different shoes now and is much better.

That sounds pretty serious. I'd make sure you go on a test drive with the Honda tech when you take it in, so you can properly duplicate the problem while he/she is there to witness it. Maybe they will have a better idea of what it could be.

It sometimes makes your foot fall asleep? I've been driving my S for about a month and a half... and that hasn't happened to me yet. It's got over 3600 miles on it now, too...

Ahhhgggghhhh!!!! This is so frustrating. There are many threads discussing odd vibrations/sounds at this RPM range, but each description is a bit different. (Do a search and you'll see what I mean.) However, a definative answer hasen't been posted yet on these boards (to the best of my knowledge). I've got a strange sound at around 3K in my MY03 with 4500 miles, but it doesn't vibrate. I wish I could hear some other S2Ks to see if they had similar sounds. Anyone from southeast AL, southwest GA, FL Panhandle?? On the other hand, we could all just be paranoid.

Took car to Honda dealer. Went early AM, no service tech. there yet. The service advisor rode with me. He said he did feel the vibration, but he felt this in all S2000's. Called me back late afternoon. The service tech. had driven the car and found nothing wrong. The Shop foreman then drove and said "this was a normal characteristic of the S-2000".

My question, that no one could answer is why the car did not drive this way for the first 4 or 5 weeks I had it (was smooth up and down the gears and at steady RPM).

I searched the TSB section in the Library section and could only come up with a possible match "transmission buzz". It does vibrate more on deceleration. My car is a 2003.

Does anyone have any ideas???
