VIN
The serial number is the last six (6) digits (not 4) of the VIN and 0011 was repeated for every different market (note the example Canadian serial number above). US car 0011 was produced separately from Canadian car 0011 that year. or UK or EU or Japan. Only thing certain is 0011 was the 11th serial number issued that year in that market. When it came off the assembly line isn't part of the data. The VIN was stamped on the firewall inside the engine bay of my car before it was painted so any delay in production could have easily moved it out of sequence if there ever was an attempt to manufacture them in strict numerical order.
The manufacturing date on the door jam data plate can offer clues as to how early 0011 may be. I've seen no information on how these cars were produced. With US demand assumed to be highest US-0011 could have been weeks earlier than Canadian-0011. I guess. Maybe.
