Vin tags
Just a random thought that popped into my head while I was driving in my S, I was wondering if anyone has ever had vin stickers made for their S? We all know that if you are looking at buying an S and it is represented as all original that it should have 10 vin tags so is it possible to make new ones that look original?
On my MB 2020 vehicle, falling ice from a tree damaged the aluminum hood. The hood was replaced with a new OEM piece and repainted and all the stickers under the thing were duplicated. They look absolutely identical to the originals. There must be some professional outfit that makes them look like the ones installed when new.

That’s what I was thinking just wondering if someone is looking to buy a S should they not assume that just because it has all its vin tags that they are original ones. If someone alters a regular vin on a car to make it more valuable that is a federal offense with serious consequences was wondering if it is the same with the vin tags.
Sadly, my 2000 AP1 got painted in 2006, and the paint shop removed the manufacturer tag inside the driver's side door. I don't remember whether that had the VIN on it along with all the other federal requirements, but the CA Highway Patrol required a manual inspection before I could register the car in the state. This isn't quite the same as the smaller stickers that have only the VIN on them.
If I could travel back in time to 2006, I'd yell at the paint shop until they restored the federally-required door sticker. I didn't even notice at the time.
If you have an S2000 where the hood was replaced, then the new hood shouldn't show the VIN of the original hood. I thought the whole point of having multiple VIN stickers was to show that a car still has all of the original pieces, like engine hood, trunk lid, doors, etc.
