Voodoo versus Club Racer Shift Knob

So, I got myself an ap2 console for xmas, and thought it'd be a simple swap, but it's turning out to be a beast of a project.

My stock 01 shift knob is stuck and turning with a vice grip will not loosen the knob. It's on so tight that the shifter rotates with the knob. So i've resorted to cutting off the knob with a hack saw. My arms are killing me.

I was thinking that I would pick up the CR shift knob, but realized that a lot of people on the boards like the voodoo knob for its counter sunk design. As far as I can tell from pictures, it looks like both of the knobs are pretty much the same, and was just wondering if the CR knob sits just as low as the voodoo knob?

The voodoo is lower than the CR knob.

You can make them as low as you wan't if you drill them out more. Theirs people counter sinking already counter sunk knobs.

kndonlee, did you loosen the nut at the bottom? its a 'jam nut' and thats how the knob is positioned...it might get easier iff you vise grip the knob, use a wrench on the nut...and twist.

The CR knob is not countersunk. It is designed to be used with a locknut. The thread in the Voodoo knobs are actually deeper/higher that's why it can go much much lower.

CR shift knob in a CR is much lower than stock. If you go any lower you are grabbing the boot.

Yea, I hope you knew about the lock-nut before trying to use a hacksaw on it. :/

DO you own a C/R knob to come to that conclusion? :hello:
