waht to look for wen purchasing a used s2k

like titles says. looking forward on buying a s2k
I am thinking about buying a used year s2000. Write the description, price, here. What should I be looking for and are their any problems for these year s2000's? How would I go about doing a compression test on s2000's. Is it similar to doing it on Civics and Integras?

-thanks

waht r U saYin? English, do you speak it.

Strangely enough, nobody has ever asked this question. Therefore it would be pointless to do a search or even just browse through the first 2 pages of the Introductions forum where there are a least 5 threads which would give you your answer in 10 minutes, much less 10 hours. y0!

Searching for a used S2K is not really different than searching for any used car. There is no "secret" problems associated with this car. As with any car, give it a thorough once over before you buy it. And as with any used car you buy without a warranty, you're taking a risk that someone might have abused it, or not properly maintained it... and that's something you just can't check for via CarFax or an initial test drive.

But as I'm sure you know, Honda makes a strong engine, so as long as things look, sound, and feel "right" then chances are good that you're making a good purchase.

---listen to the engine carefully. if it has 35-70K miles on it, listen for clicking sounds coming out of the top of the engine. Usually they need a valve adjustment but the clicking sound, if loud or prominent could be worn or spun bearings.

--check the fulids and make sure there is an acceptable amount of oil in the engine

--test drive the car and feel the clutch if it grips very high in the travel it may need a new clutch setup (disc, pp, flywheel)

--make the seller get a honda certified inspection on the vehicle before you make the deal or take delivery

beyond that, do everything else the same as buying a new car IMHO
