Default waiting to buy an S2000

Who all's waiting to buy an S2000 just like I am?

Well, I'm taking a year off school this semester, holding two parttime jobs and doing freelance contract work, just so that I can buy an S2000 next summer. Anyways, I've wondered, does financing a car affect my school loan borrowing in anyway?

You know what it's like waiting? It's like trying to swim thru mud, trying to finish a lap--very frustrating!

So as a temporary solution, 2 of my friends (one wants a Camaro SS and the other a Supra) and I agreed to pool our money in every 2 weeks to buy lotto tickets (75 tickets). So far, 2 game sessions, we've won $5 each time (odds of winning $5 were 1 in 75). At least I know odds are correct, hehe.

What is your situation like, if you're waiting on buying an S2000, that you have to wait?

1st off - you will need a co-signer

2nd - you will need a job that will bring you a minimum of 1,200 a month after taxes

$600 monthly car payment over 60 months with about 3-5 grand down. expect higher monthly or more cash down if your credit sucks

example:

$600 - car payment
$150-$200 - insurance (only if you're insured under your parents name. if not, most likely $250-$350 pending on where you live)

and we have not included gas.

Got it all figured out as a matter of fact. I'll be putting $10k down, leaving me $500/month for 5yrs. Insurance is about $225, under my parents' policy (about $335/month, by myself

My two parttime jobs bring in about $2200 after taxes. I will be working up until mid August, when I have to head back to school (I will not have a job then), but then work during Christmas break (one month), and Summer (May-mid August) each year after. Hehe, I have this all planned out alright.

Hopefully my credit is decent, as I have not had any problems with it. I've held 2 credit cards for few years now, and am paying back some school loans monthly, never skipping, or paying late.

Can I ask why I need a co-signer? Is it because I'll be a first time buyer? I really want to buy this on my own, so that I build credit, even though interest rates may be higher.
