I just took my S-2000 for a quick trip to the office, one mile away. Streets are plowed but still a little hardpack on them. For you Californians who don't understand hardpack, it's snow that has been driven on so many times it's flat and thin. Like a "sail cat", if you know what I mean. In that mile I went off the road sideways twice, spun into the oncoming lane once, and wedged it sideways in my driveway where it shall remain until Spring. I love my S-2000, but a winter car it ain't. Keep 'em high and dry, folks. Take my word for it.

Bob, is that with the OEM tires or with snow tires? Although I don't plan on driving it when there's actually snow on the roads, I did get snow tires just in case I'm caught by suprise by a blizzard.
|
that was, I'm afraid, with stock OEM tires. I know better. They don't work either with you or for you. They are absolutely against you.
|
Yeah, I know the feeling. Even with a front wheel drive vehicle, it can be a harry experience to drive on snow with max performance tires.

Man, you guys. You bought the S2K. You should use it. I commute my S2K from Ann Arbor to Southfield almost everyday. I am armed with my Blizzak on all four corners. It handles like there is no snow on the road. If you are here, remember last Monday that big snow storm that we had. I drove from Southfield back home in 2 hours.
I will get some photos with my car in the snow. That will definetly beat the dirtiest S2K. |
