Well, it's a done deal... I got an M Coupe! (kind of long).

I've always thought the M Coupe looked like the E-Type jag from Harold and Maude after he made it into a herse.
So I did a quick check just then and it seems someone agrees with me. Checkout haroldlovesmaude.com

Ldogdotcom,
There's no doubt that BMW makes fine cars.
To put it most diplomatically, the styling of the M Coupe is different.. But to each his own -- that's what makes life interesting.
Enjoy!

Congrats!
I love the M Coupe, my friend has one and it's a great car. Suspension and steering is a bit more vague than our S2000's but the the engine is pure bliss... I had a chance to drive it a few laps around Thunderhill.
Personally I would've waited and gotten a 2001 M Coupe with the 315hp S54 engine and the new updates. Now that the M Coupe won't be produced after 2002 I'm sure it'll be a collector's item.
Enjoy and let us know what you think of it.

The M-coupe is a very competent, powerful car. My track-buddy owns one, and turns lap times faster than the S2000, completely stock. The looks are even growing on me...
Question: Why is there a two-year waiting list for the new M3-coupe, but I can have the #1 spot for the new M-coupe or M-roadster with the same engine? I know the rear-end geometry of the M-coupe-roadster was somewhat compromised, but I cant beleive it wont be a better performer than the larger, heavier M3.
