Well, some people would rather spend $20 or more for that Honda decal on their battery.

I recently did some research and found the batteries sold at Honda come with the best warranty. I think its 3 years free replacement and 100 month (8+ years) prorated for $100. Curious why some of you guys going with the Costco batteries? Am I missing something? FYI all my other cars run Costco batteries because they are the cheapest and have longer warranties than OEM but they are Toyota or Lexus.

The answer is in why your other cars have Costco batteries. Low price, good quality, terrific return policy, and you (if you have the Amex card and Exec membership) get a % back in refunds for all purchases. I was surprised at how much I got back from a battery return approaching 4 years. All my cars have Costco batteries except the S as the cathode and anode were reversed and my local Dealer matched Costco with installation.

I run Costco batteries on most of my cars but went with Honda dealer battery for the s2000. They were running a special for $100 with a 100 month prorated warranty with first 3 years 100% coverage. Not a bad deal and it was a stronger battery than the one I replaced.

Returned my old Costco 2 years 11 month full refund. 66.99battery + 9 core = $82.07
New 51R was 69.99 battery + 15 core + tax = $91.97
42 month full replacement, 500CCA

I sold my 2009 Ford edge to a neighbor that battery died 3 years 21 days. so I returned that
battery and my S2000 today. I'll give her the cash to replace the dead one.
Costco is limited on their batteries sold. They no longer sell the 51 S2000 battery, at least the
other battery 51R is still sold and it fits. My old Ford is no longer carried.
