This thread is briliant! Ill shortly be looking for an S2000 when ive sold my current car so ill be printing this is off and taking it with me to look at some. The seller wont know what hit them!

Edit: I removed the clearbook links because the site sucked.

I added www.clearbook.com to the list of sites. It's part of www.truecar.com and has a nice interface for pricing used cars. I haven't spent much time with it yet but it seems accurate for the few cars I've run through it.

This helped me buy my S yesterday, thank you so much for all the information, I am very happy with my purchase, I can deal with the minor issues and everything else that needs to be done is standard maintenance, very happy to be a part of this crowd

Great checklist. The lowest reported MY02 with 4 hole oil jet bolts is now down around 5072, I think it could go down even further but that is the last confirmed number.

Also, my engine # differs from my vehicle VIN# by several hundred, and it is the original engine, I don't think the rule of the numbers being different by 10 or so is very accurate, on a low production vehicle like the S2000 they likely had a large supply of engines sitting around prior to vehicle orders being processed. Just a guess ?.
