60lbs taking out the top, 40lbs putting on a hardtop, net loss of 20lbs for $2000+

I was under the impression this car is aluminum. Is it just the hardtop, hood and trunk?

soft top weighs abit more actually, i took mine out and weighed it myself, so i know it weighs between 70-75lbs with all brackets.

[QUOTE=plokivos,Apr 26 2008, 09:37 AM] i think if honda did make all of the suspension components and body panels with aluminum, this car would be quick off of the showroom.

just everything is steel and heavy.

BTW, the rollhoops are very light...maybe 15 lbs for both of them. I removed mine when I installed my rollbar.

Hey guys, I was just wondering what exactly is it about the s2000 that makes it so heavy when compared to a miata for example. 2800+ Just seems like alot for such a small 2 seater Is it the subframe and extra braces that makes it more than 500lbs more than a miata?
Honda's reliable engine.
