what method you heel-and-toe?
This car's pedal placement is great for me to use my heel on the throttle. In my Focus I have to use the side of my right foot. My girlfriend's new evo is surprisingly hard to HT shift for being a "rally" car. S2000 Heel-Toe = hella easy with size 7 driving shoes
Done both and DEFINATELY prefer the HEEL....
I was raised with the SIDE.......but quickly learned why
the technique is called "Heel-Toe" and not "Side of your foot-Toe"
I personally make sure that the Heel does NOT stay on the floor. As it was instructed to me is that you can feel much better pedal response and pressure if your heel is not resting on the floor when applying pressure to the brakes.
Most of the problems with heel blips can be resolved by knee position before the execution.
If you practice all your rev matches with your heel......then when your heel toeing the braking part becomes much easier.
Just like any sport....people will find a different way to do the same thing....as long as it works for you and the execution is done properly...then don't fix it if it ain't broke...
my .02 cents

I just broke the tie....21 side of foot, 22 heel!I like my heel better, because I feel it is easier to controll the amount of throttle and brake. When I was first learning, I was using the side of my foot, then I slowly started using my heel more. Could have been because I learned how to do it in my civic, which was a little harder to use my heel with though.
I always use side of the foot on the street. However, on the track I need a lot more brake travel and pressure, and the pedals just don't line up as well. I'm just not in a position to do it, so I usually let the clutch do the dirty work (and make sure I'm doing it in a straight line). I think with enough practice it might not be so hard to do with the heel. I think with enough pressure the ball of the foot could make a good pivot. It's a bit tough for me, since my feet seem to have a fair bit of toe-out. Hehe.
I use heel and toe, but instructor at the track told me to brake with tip of my foot(since tip is more sensitive)..
BUT, if I use the tip, it's hard to twist and blip w/ my heel.
I'm using heel-and-underToe method I guess..
Maybe using side of foot is better method, but heel-and-toe works for any cars..heh

The type of shoe you wear really helps too. Most people wear big, clunky "tennis" style shoes that you'd get at a sporting store. These aren't too great to drive with. I wear very slim, form fitting shoes and the lighter and more sleek they are, the better you can do pedal work. Try finding some lightweight Puma mesh track style shoes or some Asics Onitsuka Tigers. These work best for me.
Oh, and I wear a 12 or 13 and use my heel.

Damn, some of you guys got some small feet! I have an 11 1/2 size shoe (usually adidas sneakers that are kind of wide) so I use the side of my foot, it just seems more natural to me. I'm not sure if this is better or not, but its what works for me.
