I changed mine at 3750 miles and 9 months.

I changed the filter too. Thinking about it now, I think that if I had it to do again I probably wouldn't wait until 3750 miles but would have changed the oil at 6 months. I'm not sure that the extra 3 months really makes much of a difference, but I've decided to follow a strict 3750 miles/6 month schedule.

I had always heard that oil absorbs moisture over time and that is the reason for the 6 month time period. Lately, I've heard that it's not that oil absorbs moisture, its that the additives break down over time. Either way, I think that 6 months is a good schedule.

The dealer recommends 3750 here in Florida. I intend to go to Mobil 1 Synthetic at about 10,000 miles.

6 months, 5400 miles. The "oil consumption/break in" bulletin issued by Honda suggested you should leave it in for the full 7500 if possible. However, it allowed that if your driving habits meet the severe maintenance conditions, 3750 would be the correct interval. I'm somewhere in between, so I split the difference.

4motto's got it right. Jeffbrig and wanabe, too. This notion of changing the oil every week isn't only a waste of money (and I say it's your money, so who the hell cares anyway), but IS NOT RECOMMENDED by honda. Did you VTEC at 50 miles? Do you pound the hell out of brand new brakes the day they are put on? No way. Same with the oil. 3750 for severe conditions and 7500 for normal. Believe me, I FEEL the desire to change my oil early, too. But, put simply, I don't meet the severe criteria. I looked hard for a reason to say I do, but daily VTECing 15 or 20 times isn't on the list. I may change it at 5500 or 6000 miles, because I'm in stop-and go sometimes, etc... Does it hurt to change early? Maybe, I don't know. Maybe just the first time. Maybe not at all. But Honda bulit the car - I'll do what they say until I know more than they do, which will be never.

I think i am waiting till 3750miles or when the oil changes color to be dark enough.
Now i got the bronze color at 2100 miles.
