At what mileage/time did you change your breakin oil?

Wow! Quite a varying bunch of replies indeed! But I'll only comment on the following:
From the fellow who will wait till 10K miles to do his FIRST change: Be on the lookout for SLUDGE! It will form long before you will see it or feel it. Once it is in your engine, even doing an engine flush will NOT get it all out. Hey, it's your car!
From the fellow who can't find a reason to classify himself as "severe": You state you sometimes drive in stop and go traffic. I don't know if it states it in this car's owner's manual, but in some of the other brand manuals, this would constitute a condition of "severe". Hey, it's your car!
From the fellow whose dealer said to change his synthetic at 7500 mile intervals on the "SEVERE" schedule: I think they are making this stuff up. Having synthetic should not change your interval length. 7500 miles should still be considered the "normal" interval. Hey, it's your car!

Sludge is what happens when you leave oil in an engine too long. A very thick, gooey, gummy substance begins to form and adhere to places where the oil normally settles. When it gets worse, it will block oil passageways, reducing your lubrication severely. "Flushing" the engine is the only way to get it out and even this, may not get it all out.
Although today's clean burning engines are less prone to sludge buildup, are you so financially strapped that you want to make a 25 buck oil change last just that much longer?
Like I've already said, "Hey, it's your car!"

I'm at 1600 miles now (3 weeks old). Should I be vteching 10-15 times a day like I am now (started at 600 miles and increased tach slowly). I've been to 8500 a couple times. Can I go to the redline yet? Is this not a good idea with break-in oil?

I changed my break-in oil after 4,000 miles. I remember reading incidences where people were turned away by dealerships because they didn't have 7500 miles.

Changed my own oil and filter at 1400 miles. I called the Honda service information number and could never get a definite answer as to why the recommended first oil change at 3500 miles. I also never got above 5000 RPM until after the oil change. The oil and filter were changed again at the 3800 mile mark. Now, that might seem overkill to some, but it's my car and I firmly believe that I'm doing the right thing. One thing I've noticed is that oil consumption has dropped to almost nothing, and it has yet to consume much anyway. It now has 5650 miles and the level hasn't moved off full since the second oil change.
Seems to me that if the break-in oil was damn important, Honda would have made it available to the buyer when he/she drove off from the dealership.
